Our Process

How our adoption process works

All adoptable dogs live in foster homes, so meet and greets happen by appointment after your application is approved.

Submit your application

Fill out our short online form. It takes about 10 minutes and helps us understand your home and lifestyle.

Review & approval

We review your application and check references. Most applicants hear back within a few days.

Meet & greet

Once approved, we set up a meet and greet with your match and finalize the adoption paperwork.

Adoption Fees

Where your fee goes

Adoption fees help cover spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchipping, and the medical care your dog received in foster.

Puppies

$250

Covers spay/neuter, full puppy vaccine series, deworming, and microchip.

Adults

$200

1–7 years

Covers spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and any medical care during foster.

Seniors

$75

8+ years

Reduced fee to help our golden oldies find a loving retirement home.

Fees may be adjusted in special cases — please reach out if cost is a barrier. We want every good home to have a chance.

Adoption questions, answered

Can I meet a dog before I apply?

Because our dogs live in private foster homes, meet and greets are scheduled after your application is approved. This protects our fosters and helps us match each dog with the right family.

What does the adoption fee cover?

Your fee helps cover spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, microchipping, and any veterinary care the dog received while in foster.

What if my application isn’t approved?

If we don’t feel a particular dog is the right fit, we’ll let you know and, when possible, suggest another dog in our care who might be a better match.

Do you adopt out of state?

We primarily adopt within Montana and surrounding areas so we can do proper meet and greets. Out of area adoptions are considered case by case.

I rent — can I still adopt?

Yes! We just ask that your landlord allows dogs and that you can share contact info or written permission as part of the application.
